1. Sign out from iMessages on Mac

The next screen will move to Accounts Select your iMessage account in the left-hand pane, and then uncheck the Enable Account option in the right-hand sidebar.

This will stop iMessages that you have received from appearing in your Mac. Any time, you may return and enable the iMessage feature on your Mac by selecting the “Enable this Account” option.

3. Switch off iMessage Notifications

If you’re not bothered by the constant iMessage notifications You can stop iMessage notifications from showing up in your Mac.

Click on the Apple Logo in top-menu bar and then select System Preferences from the menu dropdown.

On the System Preferences screen, choose the Notification tab. On another screen click the left-hand pane for messages. In the right-pane, shift the Allow Notifications toggle from ON to position.

In the following days, you’ll still be in a position to send and receive iMessages, but you won’t be concerned with iMessage notifications.

4. Remove the Device completely from Apple ID Page

Another method to stop iMessages from synching with your Mac is to uninstall your Apple ID Account.

1. Open Safari browser on your Mac and then go to the Apple ID page and log in into Your Apple ID Account.

2. Once you are signed in, go to the “Devices” section. Click on the Mac you’d like to delete from your Apple ID and click on Remove from account.

After your Mac has been removed from Apple ID page, you won’t see the iMessages app syncing across your devices.
